9 April 2026, Prague/Písek – Primoco UAV SE has obtained final building permit approval for the construction of a new manufacturing facility in Písek. The project, whose preparation began in April 2024, represents a key milestone in the company's further development and will significantly strengthen its production capacity as well as its global ambitions.
The new complex, with a total investment of CZK 750 million, will be located in the industrial zone near the city of Písek. Primoco UAV expects to commence production in 2028, with the plant's capacity enabling an increase in annual output up to 300 unmanned aircraft.
"Since the acquisition of the Písek-Krašovice airport in 2019, Primoco UAV has come a remarkable way. From a domestic manufacturer of unmanned aircraft, we have become a global player delivering our technologies to some of the most advanced countries in the world. The new facilities in Písek will not only reflect this growth, but thanks to their architectural quality will represent a modern 21st-century manufacturing plant," says Ladislav Semetkovský, founder and CEO of Primoco UAV.
The project includes a representative company headquarters designed by Qarta Architektura, integrating the administrative building, production hall, and showroom into a single technological complex. The architectural concept sensitively responds to the character of the South Bohemian landscape while reflecting the technological nature of the brand.
The dominant feature of the site will be an administrative building inspired by the shape of unfolding wings, symbolically referencing the company's core activity. The structure consists of two curved wings in a dynamic form of circular segments, with part of the building embedded into the terrain and the second floor partially cantilevered, creating the effect of a levitating volume above the landscape.
"Architecture here is not merely a shell for aviation technology, but its natural continuation. The wing shape, the use of cantilevers, and the integration into the terrain reflect the lightness, movement, and precision typical of aviation," says Jozef Kijonka of Qarta Architektura.
The complex will also include a production hall measuring 145 × 31 meters for the manufacturing of unmanned aircraft, as well as a showroom for international clients and a pilot training centre. The project will thus connect the company's entire value chain – from development and production to presentation and training.
A key advantage of the location is its proximity to Písek-Krašovice airport, where construction of a modern hangar and training facilities is already underway. These facilities are expected to be completed in the first half of 2026 and, together with the new plant, will form a comprehensive technological and logistical hub for the company.
"We are pleased that the city of Písek could provide land and create the conditions for the implementation of a project by one of the most technologically advanced companies in Europe. We believe the new plant will bring not only economic benefits to the region, but also further development of innovation and highly skilled jobs," says Michal Čapek, Mayor of Písek.
The design of the complex works with the surrounding landscape as an integral part of the whole. Terrain modelling, greenery, and retention ponds form the basis of blue-green infrastructure supporting water management and a favourable microclimate across the entire site.
The new manufacturing facility and headquarters in Písek will become the technological and commercial heart of Primoco UAV and a key pillar of its further growth in global markets.
